Dr.
Larry N. Swanson
Dr.
Larry N. Swanson, Professor and Chairman of the
Pharmacy Practice Department in the Campbell
University School of Pharmacy, is a Fellow of the
American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
Dr. Swanson has held faculty appointments and
administrative positions at three schools of pharmacy.
He has served as an assistant dean for admissions and
student affairs, directed a post-baccalaureate Pharm.D.
program, and now at Campbell, directs a
25-faculty-member department having nine different
residency programs. He is also an editor for
Comprehensive Pharmacy Review, one of the major
pharmacy board exam review books. He received his
Pharm.D. degree from the University of Southern
California in 1969, and in 1970 completed the ASHP
accredited residency program in Hospital Pharmacy at
the U.S. Public Health Service Hospital in Baltimore,
MD. He completed a Residency in Clinical Pharmacy at
the Los Angeles County/University of Southern
California Medical Center in 1972. The Campbell
University School of Pharmacy was established in 1986,
and is a member of the American Association of
Colleges of Pharmacy. The School's primary mission is
to train clinical pharmacists in a Christian
environment to meet existing and future health care
needs and to guide students to become well-adjusted,
exemplary citizens and community leaders.
