Are you within 5 years of graduation as a pharmacist? Are you under 35 years old? If you answered "yes" to either of these questions, then you are
eligible to be part of the Young Pharmacists Group of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP-YPG) - entitled to participate and benefit from all the activities directed at enhancing your international experience.
The mission of the FIP-YPG is "to help develop individuals who can act as agents of positive change at local, national and international level, both in the profession and in society". Embracing this challenge will open the door to a world of possibilities for you.
The best way to get involved is to take a good look at the Young Pharmacist's Group website and then join the YPG e-group by sending an email to subscribe or by visiting the mailing list website to join.
This is a great way to ask questions or take part in debates with your colleagues around the world. So whether you want to know about pharmaceutical care in Australia or what challenges pharmacists face in Tanzania, this is the forum for fast, informative advice.
During the last year, the YPG has been officially accepted as part of FIP (International Pharmaceutical Federation.) The recent FIP Congress in Singapore saw the realization of the first business meeting, the first FIP-YPG Forum ("How good do you want to be?"), the election of a Steering Committee and the launch of some exciting new projects, in addition to the FIP-YPG Award for Professional Innovation. The projects include the development of 2 databases - "Pharmacist registration requirements" and "Post-graduate opportunities" around the world.
We have recently started discussing the YPG activities during the next FIP Congress in Nice, France, September 2002. We are focusing on the different elements that make up the "seven-star pharmacist".
The FIP YPG is committed to giving you what you want from an international organization, so lets hear from you as to what you want from YOUR Young Pharmacists Group.
